A. Glenn Crothers is an associate professor of United States history at the University of Louisville. He has served on the board of the late, lamented Clifton Center and the ACLU of Kentucky. He has been a long-time fan of jazz, ever since hearing the music of Pat Metheny and Keith Jarrett as a teenager. When he arrived in Louisville in 1997, he was excited to discover a rich and diverse jazz scene and has attended hundreds of local shows since then. Most recently, he and his students have been conducting oral history interviews with local jazz musicians, documenting the history of jazz in Louisville and the region. He is pleased to join the board of the Louisville Jazz Society and contribute to the work of this great organization and its efforts to support local jazz scene.
