We believe that any instrument can play jazz. We’ve had flutes, bassoons, french horns cellos, even an accordion.
If you’re interested in jazz/big band music, you’ll find a warm and inclusive environment here, no matter what instrument you play or what skill level you’re at.
The group plays jazz standards using staff notation, with opportunities for improvised solos for anyone that wishes. Difficulty level is easy to intermediate, but don’t worry if you are a less experienced player – we’ll adapt the parts to your ability level. The group gives concerts periodically – any band members that wish to take part are welcome to do so.
Rehearsals: Every Thursday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
