Supporting the art form throughout Kentuckiana
Jane’s Jazz Addiction’s (JJA) musical foundation is firmly rooted in the traditions of swing jazz, particularly the musical style known as “Gypsy”, “Sinti” or “Hot Club” – jazz. However, each of the players in JJA has extensive experience with other musical genres (especially classical music) and so the ensemble instinctively takes a more expansive approach to the music they choose to play and the way they interpret it. The result is that while you certainly will hear a fabulous tune composed by Django or someone else who is part of the Gypsy Jazz canon, ofttimes that tune will be paired with a piece by Chopin or Debussy. And the beauty is…when these instrumentalists get together to make music, it all makes sense.
