The Louisville Jazz Society is proud to present the Steve Davis/David Hazeltine Quartet for an evening of Jazz performed at the highest level by this world-class group featuring Steve Davis on trombone, David Hazeltine on piano, Nat Reeves on bass, and Jason Tieman on drums.
Widely regarded as one of today’s leading voices on the trombone, Steve Davis’s hard-swinging, lyrical style has been featured on over 100 recordings with names including: Chick Corea, Freddie Hubbard, Horace Silver, Cedar Walton, Hank Jones, and many others. Steve performs internationally, touring with Dizzy Gillespie’s All-Stars, Jimmy Heath, Ron Carter, and pianist David Hazeltine.
David Hazeltine is one of a handful of contemporary pianists who has mastered all of the major musical skills, from improvisation and technique, to accompaniment, arranging, and composition. Even more impressive, David is the rare artist able to innovate in each category. Thus it’s no surprise that he’s the most recorded contemporary jazz pianist of our time, having recorded thirty five cd’s as a leader and hundreds more as a sideman, on various major labels globally.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience jazz performed at the highest caliber on Sunday, June 15th, 7:00-8:30 pm at The Café in Paristown!
